Actor. Born Don Marion Davis, he was a star child actor of the 1920s silent film era, rivaling Mickey Rooney, Peggy Montgomery and the cast members of "Our Gang" in terms of popularity. Appearing in the majority of motion picture credits as John Henry Jr., he made his film debut in the 1919 motion picture "Cupid's Day Off." Over the next decade, he would appear in over two dozen films including: "The Star Border" (1920), "Down on the Farm" (1920), "Married Life" (1920), "The Quack Doctor" (1920), "Made in the Kitchen" (1921), "The Love Egg" (1921) and "Bow Wow" in 1922. Beginning in the late 1920s, he began to appear as an uncredited screen actor, for his work in motion pictures such as "The Godless Girl" (1929), "Expensive Husbands" (1937), "The Big Broadcast of 1938" (1938), "Frontier Town" (1938), "Cowboy from Brooklyn" (1938), "Passport Husband" (1938) and his final screen appearance in "She Knew All the Answers" in 1941. Unable to find consistent work in the film industry following graduation from high school in 1935, he began turning his attention to radio, where he appeared in a number of uncredited speaking roles for nationally syndicated radio shows including "The Hallmark Playhouse Theatre," "Screen Guild Theatre," "Ellery Queen," "Suspense!," "Linda's First Love", and "Lux Radio." He made his final radio performance in 1953, marking the end of a successful entertainment career in film and broadcast radio. A member of the "Young Hollywood Hall of Fame," he died at his home in Hollywood, California, from complications of advanced age.  (bio by: Nils M. Solsvik Jr.)
