Every bit as important as his pioneer father John Andreson Sr., in the developement and success of early San Bernardino. John Jr., was born, raised and educated in San Bernardino. He attended San Bernardino's venerable Struges Academy from which he graduated in 1891. Due in large part to the prominance of the Andreson family great things were expected of young John and he began his climb from the considerable shadow cast by his father working as a surveyor with Santa Fe Railroad. A year later he secured employment at the Farmer's Exchange Bank as a collector.
John Jr., rose to the position of Vice-President before resigning in 1908. Andreson remained a member of the banks Board of Directors but took employment as the Secretary-Treasurer of the Savings Bank of San Bernardino. In line with the tradition of his father, young John was elected Fifth District Supervisor in 1926 a position he would hold until 1940 when illness forced him to retire months before his death.
Mr. Andreson's legacy included the construction of the Andreson Building, as well as the founding of the San Bernardino County Flood Control District (1938). Mr. Andreson served as President of the San Bernardino Historical Society in addition to holding office in several fraternal organizations a few of which were the San Bernardino Lodge #348, F.& A.M.: Keystone Chapter #56, Royal Arch Masons, Knight's of the Templar, Al Malidan Temple, Shrine: Knight's of Pythias of Highland, the Scottish Rite Mason Lodge (32nd degree), and a charter member of the San Bernardino Elks Lodge.
