JOE RALPH FAULK, 89, passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2011 at his home in Alvin, Texas. He was born on September 6, 1921 in Big Sandy, Texas to Phillip and Audie (Mooney) Faulk. He married Kathryn Bostick in 1942 and they have two children. He served in World War II in the U. S. Navy on the battleship Tennessee and participated in the Pacific theatre including the Battle of Iwo Jima. He retired as Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds at College of the Mainland in 1979 and spent most of his retirement on Lake Quitman in East Texas. He was a member of Westside Church of Christ in Alvin.
He is preceded in death by his grandson, the late Jarod Faulk of Dallas
He is survived by his loving wife, Kathryn Faulk of Alvin, Texas; son, Joe R. Faulk, Jr. of Atlanta, Georgia; daughter, Judi Wilds of Alvin, Texas; grandchildren; Julie Thompson of Alvin, Texas, Jamie Dawson of Alvin, Texas, Jenny Morgan and husband Steven of Allen, Texas, John Wilds, Jr. and wife Stephanie of Alvin, Texas; and nine great-grandchildren all of whom loved him very much.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family on Monday, May 2, 2011 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Jeter Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 311 N. Friendswood Drive, Friendswood, Texas 77546.
The funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at Westside Church of Christ, 831 Heights Rd., Alvin, Texas 77511 with Rayford Welch officiating. Interment will follow at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock, Texas.
