Clarence was a U.S. Army veteran, serving his country during World War II. He was a batcher at the Tuscola Builders Supply for 30 years. He was a member of the Tuscola United Church of Christ, lifetime member of the VFW and a member of the Labor Union.
Clarence had three living brothers, Edgar Conner of Tuscola, Harland "Hop" Conner of Tuscola, and Carl Conner of Fort Myers, Fla; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by five sisters and four brothers.
On a personal note, Clarence and family lived across the street from my family on Pleasantview Drive in Tuscola. His son, Bernie, and I were friends through high school [class of 1966] and afterward. My parents visited occasionally with Clarence and his wife, as I remember.
