MR. AND MRS. LEWIS PETERSON MARK SILVER ANNIVERSARY
Friends and relatives gathered Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Peterson, rural Bismarck, to celebrate the couple's 25h wedding anniversary.
Preceding a 5 p. m. dinner, an informal afternoon was spent playing cards. Covers were laid for 32 guests at the dinner and a three-tiered wedding cake, baked by Mrs. William Gierke, decorated the table. The cake was topped by a miniature bride and bridegroom and the numerals, 25, in frosting also trimmed the cake.
The dinner was prepared by Mmes. Frank Stitzer, William Gierke, R. C. Roberts, and T. D. Sullivan. Miss Lois Peterson, 305 Third St., a daughter of the honored couple, and Mrs. Robert Beyers served.
For the occasion the silver anniversary bride was attired in a black dress trimmed with gold sequins. Her accessories also were in black.
At a mock wedding following the dinner Jack Sullivan was the bride; Mrs. Robert Beyers, bridegroom; Miss Virginia Lesher, best man; and Theodore Mulhouser, bridesmaid. A nephew of the Petersons, Dean Peterson, was flower girl and Miss Patricia Sullivan carried the rings. The bride was given in marriage by her father, who was portrayed by Miss Peterson. William Gierke served as officiant.
Gifts were received by Mr. and Mrs. Peterson from the guests. Serving of refreshments concluded the celebration.
The marriage of Miss Eldora Dokken, Thunderhawk, S. D., to Lewis Peterson took place at McIntosh, S. D. on Jan. 27, 1923. They have resided on their farm in rural Bismarck since their marriage. In addition to their daughter Lois, they have one daughter, Mr. J. W. Doan, Jr., Bismarck who is vacationing with her husband and son in Sacramento, Calif.
