Lydia was my great-great-grandmother. She married Silas Jackson "Jack" McGuire, and bore eight children. She was an enthusiastic and competitive dancer, and it's said that she and her neighbor Margaret Hicks would dance until one of them dropped. One of her granddaughters remembers, "She was a tiny little thing; she wore a size four shoe."
