Birth: unknown, Italy
Death: Apr., 1915, England

Harvard Student

Harold Marian Crawford was born in Sorrento, Italy, in 1888. Later he went to England where he tutored. In 1906 he came to this country and was tutored by W. W. Nolan for entrance to college.

He was a member of the Polo Club and left college at mid-years of the Freshman year. Shortly after leaving he went abroad and became manager of a large rubber plantation in India, which was owned by a great friend of his father, Lord Sudbury. While living in India he was married, and a son was born.

When the war broke out in 1914, Crawford left India, went to England and enlisted in the Irish Guards. After a short training, he was commissioned as Lieutenant and sent to the Front.

After less than two weeks' active service he was slightly wounded and was sent back to England to instruct in grenade throwing and in the spring of 1915 was killed by the accidental explosion of a hand grenade.
