The son of George A. Cralle and Sarah Mildred Carter Cralle married Eliza (Lizzie) Gilliam Willson. They lived at "Rural Retreat". G.Truly Cralle served with Co.E 3rd Va. Cav. CSA in the Civil War. The 3rd Va. Cralle, by then a corporal, would surrender and be paroled at Appomattox on April 9, 1865. In 1866, Cralle attended VMI, but was expelled, prior to graduating from that institution, for committing a daring prank. He attended VMI for nine months.
