US Marine Sgt Arthur Lavelle Davis, Vietnam Veteran, Native of Charlotte, NC.

US Marine Sergeant Arthur Lavelle Davis, casualty of the Vietnam War. As a member of the Marine Corps, SGT Davis served our country until April 28th, 1968 in Thua Thien, South Vietnam. He was 23 years old and was not married. It was reported that Arthur died from friendly fire when mistaken for the enemy. His body was recovered. SGT Davis is on panel 52E, line 036 of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. He served our country for 3 years.

He was the son of Mr Floyd L Davis and Mrs Ipigenia Davis and brother to Mr William F Davis, 2525 Doctor Carver Road, Charlotte, NC.

He served with Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 5th Marines, 1st Marine Division, 3rd MAF.

He was awarded The Combat Action Ribbon(CAR), The Purple Heart Medal for his combat related wounds, The Vietnam Service Medal, The Republic of Vietnam Campaign Service Medal, The National Defense Service Medal.
