Cpl Gary Michael Booe, Vietnam Veteran, Native of Harrisburg, NC.

Cpl Gary Michael Booe was a member of the Army Selective Service and a Draftee. CPL Booe served our country until June 10th, 1970 in Thua Thien, South Vietnam. He was 21 years old and was not married. Gary died when his helicopter crashed. His body was recovered. CPL Booe is on panel 09W, line 037 of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. Gary's MOS was 68G20(Copters).

Gary is the son of Margie Gamon. Grandson of Shober Winfield Booe and Annie Cuthrell, and William Henry Gamon and Lillie Mae Steele.

He served with Alpha Company, 101st Aviation Battalion, 101st Aviation Group, 101st Airborne Division, "Screaming Eagles", USARV.

He was awarded The Purple Heart Medal for his combat related wounds, The Vietnam Service Medal, The Republic of Vietnam Campaign Service Medal, The National Defense Service Medal, The Good Conduct Medal and The Air Medal with Multiple Oak Leaf Clusters.
