He was the son of James and Rebecca Wells Moses and brother of James Allen Moses, Sarah Ann Moses Lawrence, William Thomas Moses and Charles Wesley Moses.
Jeremiah fought as a Confederate Soldier in the 42nd VA INF, Company E "Dixie Greys".
He was a member of the Lafayette Methodist Church.
