Michael was born Nov. 1, 1923, at Orient, to Michael Hirsch Sr. and Ella (Bresslen) Hirsch. He graduated from Spencer High School in 1941.
He worked in the World War II shipyards in California from 1942 to 1945. He stayed in California after the war and worked for a manufacturing company. He retired and moved to Vermillion in 1993.
He was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Vermillion.
He is survived by a sister, Lucille Quinn, Granberry, TX; and many nieces and nephews.
Services were 11 a.m. July 8 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, with Father Don Imming officiating.
Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.
