Ronald Max Biddle, 67, died Saturday, Aug. 7, 2004, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was a resident of Rushville.
He was born Aug. 27, 1936. His father was Joseph Max Biddle. His mother is Mary (Berkenstock) Biddle Western of Columbus. He married Linda (Weicks) Biddle on Aug. 23, 1959. She survives. Other survivors include two sons, Mark Biddle of Rushville and Kevin Biddle of Warren; a daughter, Michele Orme of Rushville; two brothers, Mike Biddle of Connecticut and Bruce Biddle of Columbus; two sisters, Myra McIntosh of Massachusetts and Diana Biddle of Columbus; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1954.
He was self-employed as an auctioneer since 1960, working in Franklin, Shelbyville, Rushville and many other parts of the state. He was well-known for radio broadcasting the Indianapolis 500 time trials for several years, as well as many other auto racing events across Indiana.
He was a member of American Legion and Eagles Lodge, an associate member of Knights of Columbus and a past vice president of Indiana Auctioneers Association.
He served in the Indiana National Guard from 1954 to 1963.
The Rev. Hank Anderson will conduct a service at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Todd Funeral Home, 805 N. Main St. in Rushville. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Military graveside rites will be conducted at East Hill Cemetery in Rushville.
