He served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of World War II. He graduated from the Meat Packers Institute of America. He was a charter member of the Top Farmers of America. He was a farmer in Texas, New Mexico, Colorado and Wyoming. He also operated module trucks and was a member of First Baptist Church in Levelland.
Survivors include his wife; a son, a daughter, a brother, a sister, and four grandchildren.
