Pearl Underwood was the daughter of Elmore Preston 'Mode' Underwood and Eveline Belcher.
She married Willie Albert Hill Nov 6, 1901 in Nashville, Howard Co, Arkansas. Willie was the brother of George Wesley Hill, who would two years later marry her sister Rose.
She and Willie raised their family near Nashville, Arkansas. A story from Tim Bingham said that she was the family comic and that she always said that her oldest daughter, Vera Mae, was was born one year and one day after she had married. Pearl said "Thank God for that extra day".
Another story from Tim Bingham - A memorable event occurred when her sister, Rose, had a new cookstove and Pearl asked her if the burners ever got hot. Rose responded that she should check them and see if they ever got hot. She reached down and touched the burner with her tongue. There was no further argument.
