Civil War Union Army Officer. Captain of Company C, 11th New Jersey Volunteers. He was killed in action while in command of his company at Gettysburg. He fought battles at Frederickburg and Chancellorsville.
First served as a Private in Company B, 2nd New Jersey Volunteer Infantry.
Originally interred in the Reformed Dutch Church Cemetery in Totowa, New Jersey. Remains moved several times after death, and now reside in an as yet unknown location.
