The youth was struck on the head by a bucket of sand being used as a balance for a hay loader. The knot on the rope slipped, allowing the heavy bucket to fall directly on him.
The victim, son of Charles and Goldie Gailey Hostetter, was born Mar. 19, 1928 in Fredricktown. The family moved several years ago to the present farm, which is situated on the Petersburg-Unity rd. near the Mahoning county line.
Survivors include the parents, three brothers, Fred Hostetter of New Waterford, Glen Hostetter at home and Pvt. Wayne Hostetter stationed overseas. and a sister, Miss. Helen Hostetter of Washington D.C.
Services will be held at 2:30 p.m tomorrow from the Petersburg Presbyterian church with interment following in the Highland cemetery at the Salem church in Beaver county.
