Susan (Menosky) Bober, 93, of East Hartford, died peacefully in her home Wednesday (July 3, 2002).

She was born in Arcadia, PA on November 14, 1908, daughter of the late Michael and Susan Menosky. She was predeceased by her husband John; sisters, Anna and Mary; brothers Stephen, John George and William; and a grandson Matthew.

As proprietress of the Shelton Arms Restaurant in Bridgeport for many years, she established a reputation among the clientele as a fabulous cook, a sympathetic listener and most of all a loyal friend. Everyone who knew her loved her for her sunny disposition, sweet nature and in particular, her concerns for others. She never met a person she didn't like or one who didn't like her. In 1984, she moved to East Hartford, where she had a similar impact on a whole new set of friends.

She leaves behind a family that loves and misses her. They include her two daughters, Gwen Prodell of East Windsor, and Elaine Saccone and partner William Kruzshak of Norfolk; and a son John Bober and his wife Cynthia of Portland; seven grandchildren, Michael and Ann Marie Prodell of Wading River, N.Y., David and Sharon Prodell of Burlington, VT, Paul and Daniele Saccone of Rochester Hills, MI. James and Monica Saccone of Brooklyn Park, MN, John Saccone of Trumbull, Christopher Bober of New York, NY and Susan Geraci and her husband Joseph of Brooklyn Heights, NY; also five great-grandchildren Terace, Tobias, Celine, Alanna and Andre; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 8, 10:30 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford with Msgr Peter Dora officiating. Interment will be in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call Monday, 8:30-10:30 a.m. The family requests in lieu of flowers donations in her memory be made to a charity of their choice.
