She was the wife of John Conway Jefferson Lee. Her parents were Caswell Eddings and Edna Moody. She had 9 children: William Caswell, Margaret Lucinda, Nancy Jane, Robert David, Mary Serena, Martin L., John Jefferson, Issac Henry, and Joshua Maridy.

The headstone is shared by husband and wife. Her name is on one side and his is on the other.

Mrs. Elizabeth (Eddings) Lee was born in East Tennessee, October 27, in the year of 1831 and departed this life January 4, 1912, age 81 years, 2 months and 8 days. She was united in marriage to John J.C. Lee in the year of 1851. To this union were born 9 children, 6 sons and 3 daughters - one of her sons has gone on before - leaving 8 living children and her aged husband, with a host of friends to mour her loss. She was converted in early life, at the age of 9 years and united with the Methodist church and has lived a consistant christian life and died with the full assurance of a living faith in Christ. She was laid to rest in the Chapel Hill cemetery, January 6, her children and her aged husband all being present except one. REv. J. W. Bess preached the funeral sermon, text Second Tomothy 4:6 7-8 verses.
