Olivia Ann Haverkamp was born in St. Joseph, Tennessee, to Caspar and Frances Pottkotter Haverkamp. The move from Tennessee to Texas came after she graduated from Loretto High School. Then she graduated from the Saint Joseph School of Nursing of Fort Worth. By this time her parents had moved to Muenster, Texas. She served as a member of the Navy Nurse Corps during World War II and the Navy Reserves until July 15, 1954. She participated in more than 50 years of nursing as a civilian nurse at St. Joseph's Hospital and Cook Children's Hospital. She remained an active member of St. Patrick Cathedral and its Altar Society and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and even at the assisted living institution where she was last assigned she found opportunity to serve others.
A burial mass was held in St. Patircks Cathedral and interment in Mount Olivet Cemetery with the Rev. Msgr. Herbert Neu officiating.
She is survived by several nephews and their wives and children. She was preceded in death by her parents, Caspar and Frances Haverkamp, brother and sister.
