Tisae W. Baker, age 76, died at the Anamosa Community Hospital early Wednesday morning, October 24, 1973, after an illness of several weeks.
He was born at Russell, Iowa on October 20, 1897, the son of Hiram and Metta Snider Baker. He received his early education in the Russell area schools. On December 23, 1917, he was united in marriage to Gladys Kells and they made their home in the Russell area until moving to Anamosa in 1939.
He was employed by the Iowa Manufacturing Co. in Cedar Rapids for 20 years before retiring. Tisae was a member of the Anamosa Congregational United Church of Christ and Odd Fellows Lodge in Anamosa.
He leaves to mourn his passing his wife Gladys, and three daughters: Wilma, Mrs. Robert Walton; Betty, Mrs. Alvin Lubben; and Eva, Mrs. Gerhard Kray, all of Anamosa. Also surviving are six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two brothers: Frank Baker of Corydon, and Harley Baker of Detroit, Mich.; two sisters: Mrs. Eva Warn of Long Beach, Calif., and Mrs. Mary Nordby of Rapid City, South Dakota.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and an infant daughter Opal Jeanette, one brother and one sister.
Funeral services were held on October 27, 1973, at the Woodman Funeral Home in Russell, with the Rev. Wauneita McConnell in charge. Burial was in the Russell Cemetery.
