Harold Curtis Gordon, Sr., 79, died July 25, 2010, at the Golden Living Nursing Home after an extended illness.
He was born on March 10, 1931 in Louisville to the late Estel and Virginia Ruth Golden Gordon. He served in the United States Air Force, the United States Army, and the National Guard as a mechanic.
He was a 100 percent Disabled American Veteran.

Mr. Gordon is survived by his wife, Jean, of Tupelo; four sons, Harold C. Gordon Jr. of Ackerman, William E. Gordon of Columbus, Leon E. Gordon of Tupelo and John C. Gordon of Ripley; two daughters, Debra I. Oakes (Gordon) of South Charleston, Ohio, and Annie R. James (Gordon) of Scobey; 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; one brother Rev. Dr. Prentiss M. Gordon of Starkville; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Irene M. Gordon of Columbus; a son, Jonathan R. Gordon of Wynne, Ark.; a daughter. Laurel J. Gordon of Columbus; and three sisters and two brothers.
