A volunteer, he enlisted on 5 Aug 1861 for 3 years. Severely wounded on 2 July 1863 at Gettysburg, he died from wounds and was buried in "grave No.3 Section A", NH Lot at Gettysburg Cemetery. (info from JS_Dow)

Edward has a cenotaph at Evergreen Cemetery in Winchester, New Hampshire.
