Pvt Daniel Hurley, son of John and Mary Murphey Hurley. Enlisted at Portland, Maine March 22, 1862 at age 20 into Co K 15th Maine Infantry Regiment. Re-enlisted June 29, 1864. Transferred March 22, 1864 out, and into 1st Maine Veteran Volunteers. Mustered out July 5, 1866 at Charleston, SC.

On his death certificate he is listed as being married and as having been a farm laborer. He passed away of senility at Northampton State Hospital, where he had been a resident for 5 years 4 months 10 days. He had been a resident of Massachusetts for 45 years.
