Watseka, Ill. - Dave L. Henneinke, 79, of Watseka, passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2011, at Iroquois Memorial Hospital in Watseka.
He was born Saturday, April 23, 1932, in Kouts, Ind., the son of Elmer and Zelma May Pierce Henneinke.
Mr. Henneinke served in the United States Army from November 3, 1952 to October 12, 1954.
On September 26, 1998, he married the former Sandra Manuel; she survives in Watseka.
Mr. Henneinke worked as a heavy equipment operator and a private contractor. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Watseka, member of the Watseka American Legion Post 23, member of the Iroquois County VFW Post 7450, and 50 year member of the Operating Engineers Union Local 841; he enjoyed mechanics especially engine building.
Also surviving Mr. Henneinke are one son, Brian Henneinke of Iroquois; one daughter, Joy Lyn Henneinke of Rose Bug, Ark.; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Geraldine Habitz of Dearborn, Mich., and Joan and Allen Gehm of Bourbonnais; four grandchildren, Holly (Albert) Boyd, Nicholas Dillon, Brandan Henneinke, and LeAnne Henneinke; two great grandchildren, Decin Pearce and Isaac Boyd; and four nieces.
He is preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Dean Henneinke and Robert Henneinke.
Visitation for Mr. Henneinke will be held on Sunday, December 18, 2011, at Baier Funeral Home in Watseka, from 1 pm until the funeral service at 3 pm. Pastor Dave Spotts will officiate.
Cremation rites will be accorded following the funeral service.
Internment will be held at a later date in Maple Grove Cemetery in Milford.
Memorials in Mr. Henneinke's name may be made to the donor's choice.
