Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today at Swan-Law Funeral Home, 501 N. Cascade Ave. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Loveland. Private family burial at Memorial Gardens Cemetery is planned.
Mrs. Bales was born Aug. 22, 1907, in Rosalia, Kan., to George and Elva (Kistler) Kane. She had lived in Colorado Springs for more than 40 years. Mrs. Bales was married Aug. 7, 1927, in McCook, Nebraska, to Alfred E. Bales, who died in 1982. She is survived by two daughters, Rogene Hawkins of Loveland and Marilyn Koch of Austin, Minn.; two sons, Merle and Marvin, both of Colorado Springs; a brother, David of Colorado Springs; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Mrs. Bales had a son, Alvin, who is deceased.
