Lucky Boy Beyer was lucky indeed. He was born to a garage dog and was believed to be a collie shepherd mix, but was probably also part retriever. He was taken at a young age to a family who lived in a tenement in the Hell's Kitchen Section of New York City. He lived on the top floor of a five story walk up. He loved his family and enjoyed frequent walks to nearby parks, including an occasional excursion to Central Park. He also enjoyed going "up on the roof" where he could play in the snow in the winter and be hosed down in the summer to keep cool. He was a very smart dog who knew the scent of everyone who lived in that building which had ten apartments. He always shared his home with a cat or two. He sometimes acted like a cat and tried to wash his face like a cat. He would also sit on a chair and look out the window from five stories up and could see his mommy, Angela Lacirignola Beyer, coming home from a block away. He lived a good long life.
