Enlisted September 17, 1863 at Paris, TN, for 3 years.
Bay horse valued at $1600.
Present on roll for Mar/April 1864 as Captain.
Absent on roll for May/June 1864,
"Wounded on 10 July 1864 & sent to Hospital".
Elected September 17, 1863;
reelected February 5, 1864.
Wounded "slightly fore arm" at Tishomingo Creek.

Mexican War veteran.
Commanded "I" Co., 5th Tennessee Infantry until it's reorganization after Shiloh.
Recruited Co. "E" of the 20th from the southern portion of Henry Co.
Wounded at Athens.

Married January 3, 1851 to Ardela Barham.

NOTE: Wound at Brices Crossroads was a pistol ball through the arm.
