19 year old PFC Cecil Dotson was the son of Mrs Molly Mayfield. He was killed Aug 15, 1950 while serving with the 2nd Infantry division in Korea. He had been reported missing in action until word of his death was received in Nov, 1950, by his mother.
Dotson was a radio operator with Co B of the division and was sent overseas shortly after the outbreak of the Korean war. His first letter from the battle area near Taegu was written Aug 12.
Cecil was reared in Collinsville where he received his early education and later attended Tulsa Central high school 2 years, graduating in May 1949.
Survivors include his mother, and 1 brother Johnny Dotson of Collinsville, and 4 sisters: Mrs Grace Brightman and another, both of Tulsa, Mrs Virgie Hiser, Orange, TX, and Mrs June Mosby, Folsom, Calif.
