Paetzell, 88, of Milford, died Monday in Hunterdon Convalescent Center. She was an elementary school teacher, starting her career in 1923, with the Bridgeton Township Elementary School. She then taught at Tinicum Township Elementary School, Alexandria Township Elementary School and Holland Township Elementary School, retiring in 1965. Born Jan. 22, 1904, in Danville, Pa., she was a daughter of the late William and Mattie Gething Lawrence. She was a 1922 graduate of Bloomsburg State College and also attended Rutgers University and Trenton State College. She belonged to the New Jersey Education Association and the National Education Association. She also was a member and former president of the Milford Senior Citizens Group. Her husband, Robert W. Paetzell Jr., died in 1986. Surviving are two sons, William L. of Milford, with whom she resided, and Alvin E. of Tarboro, N.C.; two daughters, Doris P. Neligan of Milledgeville, Ga., and June P. Weaver of Denver, Colo.; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in W.E. Johnson Funeral Home in Holland Township.
