Major League Baseball Player. He pitched in the majors for three teams in eleven years. Primarily a left-handed relief pitcher with a submarine-style delivery, Hogsett began his career with the Detroit Tigers (1929 to 1936), then with the St. Louis Browns (1936 to 1937), Washington Senators (1938), and finished up pitching a few games for the Tigers in 1944. During his career he won 63 games and lost 87 with an earned run average of 5.02. He had 33 saves and 441 strike outs. He pitched in two World Series with the Tigers in 1934 and 1935. (bio by: Mel Bashore)
