Birth: 1815
Death: 1875

Grave under road in front of condo's for Holiday Hills Golf Resort.

Here is how Leanna Jones Harvey described Turner Haggard:TURNER Haggard was a man of quiet nature, with a dignity that set him apart from the average man of the Ozarks. He had laughing blue eyes and a smile which played about his mouth while he talked pleasantly or teasingly, but one never heard him laugh aloud. He was not of a gloomy nature, but the breaking up of his family was a great blow to him, and one from which he never recovered. He was a man of strict business, a good provider who reared his family well and rejoiced in seeing them dowell. The Civil War had laid its hard hand on him, and when his wife died, he had not recovered from the financial losses he had suffered."AND here is how she described TURNER HAGGARD'S death:"The winter Sarepta was two years old was a damp, chilly one, following a close hot summer. Fever raged again along White River then pneumonia followed. Rebecca's family had escaped the fever, but one gray day Mr.Haggard already with a cold, husked corn all day in the damp barn. That night pneumonia developed. In three days he was dead. (about 1875)"Another story describes his death as being killed by bushwhackers when he was sent home injured during the Civil War.
