Services for Pete SHULTS, 89, of Gatesville were held at 10 a. m. Thursday at Scott's Funeral Home chapel. Reverend O. A. TAYLOR officiated, and burial was in the Friendship Cemetery.
Mr. SHULTS, a retired oil company engineer, died February 3 in the local hospital.
Born August 5, 1891, in Coryell County, he was reared in the Friendship community. He married Myrtle DOUGLAS in 1914. The couple farmed in the Spring Hill area in this county until 1927, when they moved to West Texas and Mr. SHULTS became an engineer for Humble Oil Company.
Mrs. SHULTS died in 1932.
Mr. SHULTS, who retired in 1961, resided in Abilene for ten years before returning to Gatesville only three weeks ago. He was a member of the Eisenhower Church of Christ in Odessa.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Clara WILLIAMS of Abilene and Mrs. Dean LOGINO of Odessa; a son, Douglas SHULTS of Gatesville; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers for Mr. SHULTS' funeral were Jack PAINTER, J. W. SHULTS, Verna HAFERKAMP, Lloyd LOGAN, Jim LOGAN and C. J. POWELL.
