Margaret L. Douglas, of Port Neches, passed away Wednesday at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas.

Margaret was born in Henderson, Texas to William Edward Whitehead and Cleotis Hendon Whitehead.

She was a resident of this area for sixty years and retired from Levingston Shipyard as an Accounts Payable Clerk with twenty years of service. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Port Neches, past Matron of Port Neches Eastern Star #677, past President of Cashan Grotto, and a volunteer with the Ladies Auxiliary at Mid-Jefferson Hospital. She was also a member and District President of the Square Dance Association.

Survivors include her husband, Fred E. Douglas; daughter, Mary Louise Maupin and husband, Bob; son, Thomas F. Douglas and wife, Sharon; four sisters, Marie Ross and husband, Bill; and Hazel Wade; Alice Wayne Buchanan; and Robbie Jo Pankratz and husband, Glen; two brothers, Lavern Whitehead and wife, Lorraine; Billy Whitehead; five grandchildren, Kristen Graves; Mara Hollingshead and husband, D.J.; Kim D. Poole and husband, Jimmy; Kelly D. Shunkweiler; Kari D. Merrill and husband, Michael and seventeen great grandchildren.

Funeral service at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches with Rev. David Mahfouz officiating. Burial at Oak Bluff Memorial Park.
