The funeral of John B. Davis,Civil war veteran and prominent resident,held Tuesday afternoon in the Hicks Memorial Methodist church, was largely attended by relatives and friends. The service was conducted by the pastor, Rev. D. G. Felder, who paid a glowing tribute of respect to the memory of the departed veteran. The attendance included several Civil war veterans and there were numerous floral tributes. At the conclusion of the service, the cortège moved to Carson Valley Cemetery, where interment took place. At the close of. the committal service, a firing squad of Duncansville Sons of Veterans, fired a salute and taps were sounded by Nelson Renner, with James Liebegott sounding the echo. The death of Comrade Davis reduces the number of Civil was veterans in town to five.
