Michael Feather died at his home near Eldorado yesterday, October 6, 1918 at 11.55 o'clock after a short illness from pneumonia, having been sick less than two days.
He was born Jan. 30, 1841, and had resided in the county all his life, following the occupation of a farmer practically all his life until a few years ago when he retired from active work.
He is survived by one brother, George Feather, residing in North Dakota and by four sons: William A. of Burlington, Was., George E. and James of Pittsburgh and D.O. of Eldorado, with whom he made his home and by one daughter, Mrs. Alma Wilt.
He was a veteran of the Civil war and was a color sergeant in the One Hundred and Tenth Regiment Pennsylvania Volunteer infantry and had served in a number of battles, principally the battles of Gettysburg and Antietam. He was a member of Post 39, G.A.R., the Union Veteran Legion and was a member of the Lutheran church of Newry.
The funeral will be private, and will be conducted at the home at Eldorado, on Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, followed by interment in Carson Valley cemetery.
