JAMES WILSON ADAMS
James Wilson Adams, a lifelong resident of Blair County, and a citizen of Hollidaysburg for many years, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. David Diehl, 2709 Maple Avenue, at 12:55 o'clock yesterday of diseases incident to old age. He was seventy years of age at this time. Mr. Adams was born at Duncansville, December 24, 1846. At the age of 18 he enlisted in company F, Twenty-first Pennsylvania cavalry, early in 1864. At the close of the Civil war he was honorably discharged from the service at Lynchburg, Va., July, 1865. He is survived by three sons and four daughters: J. Bernard, of Duncansville; A. Fred and Frank A., of Roaring Spring; Mrs. C. L. Reed and Mrs. David Diehl, of this city; Mrs. O. R. Stiffler, of Akron, O., and Mrs. E. C. Konkle, of Juniata Gap. He is also survived by the following brothers: Charles Allen, William and Robert, of Johnstown, and one half-brother, Samuel Wilson, of Smithfield, Fayette county. One half-sister, Mrs. Anne Weaver, of Duncansville, thirty grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive. Mr. Adams was a member of the James H. Gibboney post No. 465, G.A.R., of Duncansville. The funeral will be held with services at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Diehl, at 10 o'clock Saturday morning, in charge of the Rev. G. F. Snyder, pastor of the St. Paul's Lutheran church.
