Lynn passed away quietly on Friday, February 23, 2007, at the Chinook Hospice in Calgary, after a four year battle with cancer.
She will be sorely missed by her husband Carl; daughter Marika; and son Anders. She is also survived by her parents, Shirley and Reginald (Jerry) Munden; and her brothers, Paul, Tom and Chris and their families, all in the greater Toronto area.
She was born and raised in the Weston area of Toronto. At 18 she married John McGregor. She was trained as a legal secretary and worked in Toronto. She and John then spent several years travelling back and forth across the country as auditors for a movie theatre chain. When they felt that they had done enough travelling, they decided to settle in Calgary in 1975. Lynn then worked again for a number of law firms. She spent a year in Vancouver in the early eighties but couldn't stand the rain. When she came back to Calgary she began to work for Canadian Hunter.
On a Petroleum Ski Club trip to Whitefish at Easter 1985, she met Carl. They were married in July 1988, and Marika was born a year after that. Lynn spent the last eighteen years making a wonderful home for her family and taking care of her pets.
Her great pleasures, after her family, were walking Gypsy with the "Kennel Klub" in Parkdale, her flowers, and observing the antics of the birds and squirrels in the area. It was perhaps significant that the cedar waxwings flocked the neighbourhood in her last days and on Friday they were gone. No one will forget her distinctive laugh; her spirit will remain with us until the end of our days.
