RASPE, JOHN H. John H. Raspe, aged 63 years, died at his residence at Raspeburg, on the Bel Air road, Saturday afternoon, 11th inst., after a lingering illness. Mr. Raspe had resided at Raspeburg for a number of years and was a highly respected citizen. He was a member of an engineering corps in the Union Army during the Civil War. He had also served as postmaster at Raspeburg for the past three years. He is survived by a widow and six children - John, William and Charles, and Misses Mary, Ella and Emma Raspe. His funeral took place Tuesday afternoon at ? o'clock. The services were conducted by Rev. J. Conrad Twele, pastor of Friedens English Lutheran Church, Baltimore. The pall-bearers were taken from among the members of Garden Lodge, No. 114, I.O.O.F., of which Mr. Raspe had been a member for about 30 years. The interment was made in the cemetery adjoining the Jerusalem German Lutheran
Church at Gardenville.

NOTE: Wife's maiden name was Elizabeth Milchling; she was sister of John Milchling of Raspeburg. John H. Raspe's parents were Henry and Rosina Raspe, both born abt. 1804, Germany. He had a store on Belair Road at Hamilton Avenue.
