Officer Bradley's partner was a rookie officer that he was tutoring at the time. He and the rookie responded to a call, "Man with a Gun." at a rooming house, 1428 N. 11th st (near 11th Street and Master Street). A man had threatened his wife on the third floor. As Officer Bradley entered the house through a closed door, he was shot and killed by the suspect. The rookie and two other officers riddled the man with bullets, killing him. Bradley was a 14-year veteran of the force.
