She was a graduate of Gallagher Business College. She had been employed by Gower, Gray and Gower, law firm and served as assistant secretary for Home Town Mutual Fire Insurance Co.
She was a 61 year member of the United Methodist church, serving Bonfield Evangelical United Methodist as choir director and organist while she and her husband were farming the family farm in Salinas Township.
She had been a member of St. Mark United Methodist in Kankakee for 38 years while they lived there. She also taught Sunday School and was active in all church organizations.
In 1946 Margaret received the State Home Preservation Championship trophy from the National Garden Institute. She greatly enjoyed cooking.
