He was the son of Augusta & Ferdinand Albert Edward (Fred) Bathke.He entered the service July 5, 1918 assigned to 109th Co. Engineer, 29th Division And sailed for France Sept. 15, 1918. He was gassed at Thiacourt, Nov. 2, 1918 which resulted in puenomia and death. He was a Machine gunner.
