SPRINGFIELD - Donald R. Bair, 65, of Springfield died Tuesday, July 15, 2003, at St. John's Hospital.
He was born April 27, 1938, in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Charles R. and Winifred C. Downey Bair.

Mr. Bair was a self-employed artist and a U.S. Army and Marine Corps veteran, serving during the Korean War. He also was chaplain for the Marine Corps League.
He was a member of Elliott Avenue Baptist Church, Interveterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County and Toys for Tots.

Survivors: a daughter, Debbie Lott of Arkansas; a stepdaughter, Carmen R. (husband, Dennis) Wittmer of Palmyra; a son, Charles Bair of Iowa; a stepson, John Bodman of Iowa; five grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a brother, Everett Manly of Detroit, Mich.

Graveside services: 2 p.m. Monday, Camp Butler National Cemetery. Staab Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
