Original name: Michael Veale
Michael Vail was born in Manhattan, the son of Irish immigrants Mary Kennedy and Francis "Frank" Veale.
His siblings were: Edward, Margaret, Nora, Josey and Frank. Siblings who died as children included Nicholas, Joseph and Alice.
He married Dora "DoeDoe" Rix on November 14, 1912 and their children were Margaret, Michael and Edward.
He died at Polyclinic Hospital in New York City from septicemia following surgery. He was 36 and left behind a widow and three young children.
He is buried with his father, Francis Veale. Also buried in the plot, but not mentioned on the stone, is his niece, Margaret Catherine Beyer
