David Ralph Altenburg, 58, of Meadville, died Saturday, Feb. 24, 2007, at Meadville Medical Center
Born in Meadville Aug. 15, 1948, he was a son of Kermit Altenburg and Evelyn Patton Altenburg.
He graduated from Conneaut Lake High School, and served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was employed as a weekend caregiver with the ARC of Crawford County.
Survivors include; his parents, Kermit and Evelyn Altenburg of Florida; a son, Casey Altenburg of Meadville; three grandchildren, Marissa Altenburg, Brenden Altenburg and Blade-Matthew Gilson;and a step daughter, Cara Hall and her husband, William, 3 step grandkids; Tyler, Cody & Kaylee Hall of Conneautville; two brothers, Daniel Altenburg of Florida, and Kerry Altenburg and his wife, Kathy, of Florida; a nephew and several nieces.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Kermalee Altenburg.
Calling hours are today from 7 to 9 pm at Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home, 614 Baldwin St., Meadville.
The funeral will be Thursday at 10 am at the funeral home, with Andrew Massey officiating.
Interment with full military honors will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
