Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, January 24, 2010 at Wallace Funeral Home, Milton, with the Rev. Bill Blankenship and Dr. Jerry Warren officiating. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville.
He was born July 20, 1926, in Milton, a son of the late Milton F. "Brud" and Anna Lee Newman Wallace. He was married June 12, 1949 and is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Barbara Wallace; one daughter, Rhonda Wallace of Milton; his best friend, who was like a brother, George Woody and his wife Pat of Duluth, MN. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. He retired from ACF Industries. He was a 32nd Mason belonging to the Milton Lebanon Lodge 68, Order of Eastern Star, White Shrine, Amaranth, Huntington Commandary No. 9, Royal Order of Scotland, Wallace Clan Society and the St. Andrews Society. Known to many as "Mr. Gideon", his greatest love was working for and being a member of the Cabell -Lincoln Gideons. He served in many offices of the local camp and several on the state level. He was most honored to serve as state chaplain for the Gideons for three years.
