I had the honor of meeting Ned and his wife just one time, it was when a few of the officers got together in florida for a luncheon. He had all of the wives rolling in laughter, as the retired officers told of the old days on the dept. He was a joy to listen to. My husband really liked Ned,and said he was a good guy.Ned inlisted in the Army on Aug 12,1942 for the duration of WWII,plus 6 months to the decretion of the President.Parents:Charles and Flossie Blanchard.
It was said Ned was playing his usual 18 holes of golf, when his heart failed him.
Ned went the way he wanted (on the golf course).
Specifically: Have not be able to locate where Ned is buried.
