Youngest child of the late Joseph B. Solomon and Mildred E. Smith Solomon.
Early childhood in Stony Point, VA.
James was a quadruple amputee due to the ravages of Diabetes. Even with all of the adversities he faced, James' positive spirit never wavered, and he never complained.
Formerly a resident at Cresent Hall, his last years were spent as a resident at Trinity Mission of Charlottesville.
He was preceded in death by a brother Joseph (Junie) Solomon of Newport News, VA.
Surviving him are two daughters Michelle and Carol Burnley of Charlottesville, sister Earline Solomon Jackson of Newport News, VA, brothers Ruddell Solomon of Detroit, MI, William Solomon (Christine) of Charlottesville, and one devoted cousin Shirley Solomon Parrish of Charlottesville.
A memorial service was held Tuesday, January 12, 2010, at Cresent Hall, 500 South First Street, Charlottesville, with the Reverend Mary Carey officiating.
