Peter M. Holstine was born in Mercer County, West Virginia on the 17th day of August, 1845. he was the second son of James and Minerva holstine.
On March 8th, 1866 he and Margaret Isham were joined in the Holy Bonds of matrimony and to this union were born six children, three boys and three girls, five of whom survive the deceased. One daughter, Dollie Cooper having preceded him to the Great Beyond.
In due time they made their home in Western Kansas and from thence came to Oklahoma in 1889, during the opening and have parctically resided here ever since.
In Cedar County, Mo., he became a member of the Church of Christ and joined a congregation calling themselves Christians. This took place about 42 years ago. To the day of his death he was a member of the Christian congregation in Kingfisher, having put in his membership with them prior to the Fife and Saunders meeting some years ago.
He leaves to mourn his devoted wife and five children, Mrs. Clara M. Morgan, who resides at Victoria, Texas; Florence Virginia Bartholick of Kingfisher, Calvin L, of Grand, Oklahoma; Frank F. of Waukomis, Oklahoma; Bert C. of Oklahoma City, besides grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Two brothers, Hugh Holstine of Longdale, Oklahoma and James Holstine of Columbus, Kansas both younger than he.
Peter M. Holstine departed this life at five o'clock a.m. on the 16th of July, 1914, being 68 years and eleven months old. He died as he had lived a firm believer in the efficiency of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ for all the needs in the sight of God.
The funeral services were conducted from the home of Mr. and Mrs. T. D. Bartholick, conducted by Rev. Saunders. Interment was made in Kingfisher cemetery.

Holstine of Grand Okla.; Frank Holstine and family of Waukomis; Bert Holstine and family of Oklahoma City; James Holstine of Columbus Kans; Hugh Holstine of Longdale, Okla; Marion Cooper and daughter Gertrude of Thomas, Okla and Gertrude Morgan of Cheyenne, Okla.
