After graduating from BYU in 1955 with a degree in Elementary Education, she taught school for two years. Winner of the BYU Heber J. Grant Oratory Contest, she had a great gift for journalism and speech. She was active in PTA and school volunteering, a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, and a dental receptionist at her husband's office. She had an inexhaustible capacity to serve others. Her life's work and joy was centered in family and she leaves a legacy of unwavering faith, hard work, and giving of self.
